Proposed Neighborhood Zoning Change
"No CS Zoning on Medical Parkway!"

On Thursday, December 1, 2005, the zoning case at 3919 and 3921 Medical Parkway will go before the City Council. Please join your neighbors at this very important hearing and demonstrate that you believe commercial buildings near residential areas should be built to be compatible with surrounding streets and residences. This issue heavily impacts the future of our neighborhood. For more information, please see this PDF flyer, which includes sketches that illustrate the scale of the completed building in relationship to buildings in its vicinity.

Graffitti

Article about Rosedale's Seiders-Peterson House

Several months ago, Devin Greaney, a free lance writer, wrote a series of articles about neglected historic buildings in Ausitn. One of the historic homes he wrote about was Rosedale's Seiders-Peterson house located at 1105 West 40th. A copy of his article is available at: http://www.austinexplorer.com/History/SiteDetails.asp?SiteID=38

During summer 2003, Mark Brucks and Chris Allen met with Matt Thompson, a representative of Capital Pediatrics, the owners of the Seiders-Peterson House. Mr. Thompson reported that the owners have hired an architect and are developing plans to return the Seiders-Peterson house to its use as a rental residence. All plans are to be carried out within the historical zoning of the house. Capital Pediatrics will continue to use the south part of the property for parking.
